We are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team and contribute to the continued success of our projects. We are looking for a hungry, proactive go-getter to grow and learn within our company.
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor at Bramdean Construction, you will play a key role in supporting our team which leads the commercial and financial management of our projects.
Working closely with our Senior QS and project teams, you will be involved in both pre-construction (tendering and estimating) and live project management (valuations, variations, buying, and cost reporting).
This is a dynamic role offering the opportunity to learn, develop, and grow within a supportive and high-performing environment.
Support the preparation and analysis of Bills of Quantities and schedules of works
Support tendering activities, including measuring, rates, managing enquiries, cost planning and value engineering
Assist in the preparation of competitive and negotiated tenders, providing accurate financial input
Research and apply current industry rates to ensure competitive pricing
Support the Senior QS with the commercial management of live projects
Assist with monthly valuations, interim applications, and final accounts
Manage and process variations, change orders, and subcontractor accounts
Monitor project costs, cash flow, and budgets to support financial control
Undertake site visits to assess progress, quality, and measure works completed
Support project managers with procurement of subcontractors and materials to ensure cost effective buying
Support project managers with cost advice and reporting throughout the programme
Contribute to cost optimisation by providing insight into materials, methods, and market rates
Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying (or similar construction/commercial discipline)
Ideally 2–4 years’ experience. Ideal candidate will have had exposure to high-quality residential projects
Strong numerical and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail
Confident communicator with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, clients, and subcontractors
Dynamic, proactive, and eager to develop under the guidance of our Senior QS
Organised and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple tasks
