Company Overview

Our client is a well-established, medium-sized construction contractor based in Derbyshire, trading for over 40 years. The business employs approximately 30 directly employed staff and has an annual turnover of around £20m. They deliver projects across the commercial, industrial and residential sectors, and are known for their quality delivery, long-standing client relationships and experienced workforce.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day management of construction projects from site set-up through to completion. The successful candidate will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, to programme and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day site operations and site teams
• Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with health & safety legislation and company procedures
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and directly employed labour
• Maintain programme schedules and monitor progress against targets
• Ensure quality control and compliance with drawings and specifications
• Chair site meetings and liaise with clients, consultants and senior management
• Maintain accurate site records, reports and documentation
• Manage site logistics, materials and plant
• Ensure projects are delivered within budget constraints

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Site Manager within the construction industry
• Strong background across commercial, industrial and/or residential projects
• In-depth knowledge of construction methods, sequencing and site management
• SMSTS qualification (essential)
• CSCS Black or Gold Card
• First Aid at Work certification
• Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
• Full UK driving licence

Desirable

• NVQ Level 6 or equivalent in Construction Management
• Experience working for a medium-sized main contractor
• Temporary Works Coordinator experience
