Location: Derbyshire (with travel to sites as required)
Salary: Negotiable, dependent on experience

Company Overview

Our client is a well-established, medium-sized construction contractor based in Derbyshire, trading successfully for over 40 years. The business employs around 30 directly employed staff and operates with a turnover of circa £20m. They deliver projects across the commercial, industrial and residential sectors, with a strong reputation for quality, reliability and long-term client relationships.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Construction Health & Safety Advisor to support and enhance health, safety and compliance standards across all company operations. The role will involve working closely with site teams, management and external stakeholders to ensure best practice is embedded throughout the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide competent health & safety advice across multiple construction sites
• Ensure compliance with current HSE legislation, CDM Regulations and company policies
• Carry out site inspections, audits and risk assessments
• Support the preparation and review of RAMS, method statements and safe systems of work
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, producing reports and recommendations
• Deliver toolbox talks and support health & safety training initiatives
• Assist with client and principal contractor health & safety requirements
• Promote a positive health & safety culture throughout the business

Requirements

• Proven experience in a Health & Safety role within the construction industry
• NEBOSH Construction Certificate (minimum requirement)
• Strong knowledge of UK health & safety legislation and CDM Regulations
• Ability to work independently and engage confidently with site teams
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Full UK driving licence

Desirable

• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
• Experience across commercial, industrial and residential projects
• Membership of IOSH (or working towards)
