About Us
Ellis Building Services Ltd (EBS) is a growing mechanical and electrical contractor delivering 
projects across healthcare, education, commercial, and public-sector frameworks. As the 
business continues to expand, we are looking to appoint an experienced Compliance Manager 
to take full ownership of our compliance, health & safety, and quality systems.
This is a key role within the business and will work closely with the Directors to help take EBS to 
the next level.
The Role
The Compliance Manager will be responsible for managing all company accreditations, health & 
safety compliance, staff certification and training, and leading the business through ISO 9001 
accreditation.
You will be the central point of control for compliance across the business, ensuring standards 
are met without exception and systems are practical, efficient, and fit for purpose.
Key Responsibilities
• Accreditations & Compliance
? Take full ownership of all accreditations and renewals (e.g. CHAS, 
Constructionline, SafeContractor)
? Ensure renewals are completed on time and to the required standard
? Liaise with accreditation bodies and auditors
? Maintain and continually improve compliance documentation
• Health & Safety
? Oversee company-wide H&S compliance for office and site operations
? Ensure all staff and subcontractors hold the correct and valid
• Certifications
? Support RAMS reviews and site compliance processes
? Assist with incident reporting and corrective actions where required
• Training & Competency
? Manage and maintain the company training matrix
? Track qualifications, renewals, and refresher training
? Liaise with training providers and organise courses as required
? Provide visibility to Directors on competency and training gaps
• ISO 9001 / Quality
? Lead the implementation and achievement of ISO 9001
? Develop, implement, and maintain a Quality Management System (QMS)
? Prepare the business for audits and manage audit outcomes
? Embed a culture of continuous improvement across the business
• Business Improvement
? Identify compliance and process gaps and propose improvements
? Support EBS in meeting framework and public-sector compliance expectations
? Help professionalise systems while keeping them practical and usable
About You
• Proven experience in a Compliance, H&S, or Quality role within construction or M&E
• Strong working knowledge of H&S legislation and accreditation schemes
• Experience delivering or managing ISO 9001
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Confident working with senior management, auditors, and external bodies
• Practical, proactive, and solutions-focused
