Role Overview
We are a well-established Midlands-based scaffolding company seeking an experienced Scaffolding Manager to work closely with the Director in overseeing the day-to-day running and continued growth of the business.
This is a key leadership role, responsible for managing operational delivery, supervising a team of 10–20 scaffolders, ensuring compliance and safety standards, and supporting business development through existing industry contacts and tender opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Management

• Assist the Director in the overall management and smooth running of the business
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee scaffolding projects across residential, commercial, and solar sectors
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget
• Manage labour allocation, logistics, materials, and scheduling

Team Management

• Lead, manage, and motivate a team of 10–20 scaffolders
• Carry out site visits, toolbox talks, and performance oversight
• Ensure training, competency, and certification requirements are met
• Promote a strong safety-first culture across all sites

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure all works comply with all relevant HSE regulations
• Oversee risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and site inspections
• Act as a point of contact for clients, inspectors, and regulatory bodies

Business Development & Tenders

• Use existing industry network to assist in identifying and winning new business
• Support the preparation of tenders, pricing, and client proposals
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and developers
• Represent the company professionally within the local and regional market

Commercial & Reporting

• Assist with job costing, margin control, and commercial awareness
• Provide regular operational updates to the Director
• Contribute ideas and strategies to support company growth

Candidate Requirements
Essential

• Proven experience in a senior scaffolding role (Manager / Supervisor / Contracts Manager)
• Strong knowledge of scaffolding regulations and best practice
• Experience managing teams of scaffolders on multiple projects
• Commercial awareness and ability to support tendering and business development
• SMSTS (or SSSTS with strong experience)
• CISRS Advanced Scaffolder (or equivalent experience)
• Full UK driving licence

Desirable

• Experience working across residential, commercial, and/or solar projects
• Established network within the Midlands construction/scaffolding market
• IOSH or NEBOSH qualification
