The Mechanical Project Manager will be site-based in Slough, delivering mechanical engineering and construction works across complex projects within live and critical environments. The role requires a commercially aware individual with strong control of project documentation, site management, and subcontractor coordination.While prior data centre experience is beneficial, it is not essential. Candidates with transferable experience from other critical or live environments are strongly encouraged to apply.
Provide mechanical project management and construction leadership on live sites.
Manage delivery of mechanical infrastructure packages in line with programme and quality requirements.
Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, trades, and the external supply chain.
Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to client and company standards.
Implement and maintain quality assurance systems throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure compliance with health & safety, CDM regulations, environmental legislation, and HSQE standards.
Prepare and maintain programmes, method statements, and risk assessments.
Produce weekly site condition, safety, and progress reports.
Chair and minute subcontractor and project meetings as required.
Maintain accurate site records in line with legislative and company requirements.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
Identify and manage risks, issues, and opportunities for value engineering.
Monitor cost tracking and support delivery within agreed budgets.
Carry out site surveys to establish scope of works for costing and variations.
Ensure all site personnel hold appropriate competence and certifications.
Complete testing documentation and relevant project records.
Experience at Mechanical Project Engineer or Mechanical Project Manager level.
Background delivering mechanical packages in live or critical environments.
Mechanical-related qualifications relevant to the role.
SMSTS certification.
CSCS Managers Card.
Strong commercial awareness and project documentation skills.
Experience working for customer-facing contractors.
Working knowledge of planning software, SharePoint, and MS Office.
Strong understanding of health & safety, CDM, and environmental legislation.
Excellent organisational, communication, and time management skills.
Experience chairing subcontractor meetings and managing site teams.
Basic understanding of costing small variations and minor works.
£75,000 – £80,000 salary depending on experience.
