Job description
Job Title: Fire Alarm Installation Engineer
Location: London – Essex – Kent - South East
Salary: Negotiable Up to £40k with OTE in excess of £50k + Pension + Van + 20 days Holiday accruing additional day each year, Birthday holiday, holiday purchase scheme.
PFS Minor Projects Department is looking for a Fire Alarm Installation Engineer to join the team and carry out installations on new and existing fire detection and alarm systems.
Responsibilities:
• Install fire detection and alarm systems to guidance and recommendations of BS5839
• Uphold engineering practices and maintain company equipment in good condition.
• Exhibit exemplary timekeeping and housekeeping at all work sites.
• Report on work progress as requested by management.
• Maintain effective client relationships to aid in securing future work.
• Manage and account for tools and plant equipment on site to ensure alignment with project requirements.
• Adhere to all health, safety, security, and environmental policies that impact both customers and fellow employees.
• Deliver weekly progress reports to the Project Engineer and Project Manager.
Experience and Certifications Required:
• City and Guilds 236 Part 1 & 2 in electrical installation or an equivalent qualification.
• Extensive experience in the installation of containment and cabling for fire detection and alarm systems.
• Experience of working in a commercial environment.
• Holder of 17th or 18th Edition Electrical qualification, or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience.
• Working knowledge of relevant fire standards including BS 5839 Pt 1, BS 6266 Pt 1, and BS 7273.
• FIA training completion, specifically Units 1 (Fire Detection Design) and Unit 4 (Installation and Testing).
• Hold CSCS / ECS / SSSTS or equivalent.
• Hold IPAF & Pasma
