Role: NICEIC Qualified Supervisor / Quality Manager
Location: Based near Tunbridge Wells (projects across London and the Home Counties)
Salary: Negotiated (DOE)
Current Affairs Electrical Contractors is looking for a talented and driven NICEIC Qualified Supervisor / Quality Manager to join our dynamic team. If you’re passionate about delivering high-quality commercial fit-out projects and want to be rewarded for your impact, this is the role for you.
You’ll lead the contracting team in matters of electrical conformity and quality across the electrical projects we deliver, typically ranging from £100k to £1.5m, assisting in seamless execution from design through to handover. Working closely with our Contracts Directors and Senior Leadership Team, your responsibilities will include:
Attending all active sites as required during the project.
Reviewing temporary electrical installations and certification.
Assessing the condition of existing installations and their suitability for safely carrying out alteration works, removals, and additions.
Meeting with the client’s project or site manager to proactively discuss any issues relating to site operatives.
Reviewing general site health and safety arrangements, ensuring operatives hold relevant skills cards for the tasks undertaken, including ECS, PASMA, IPAF, etc.
Assessing working practices in relation to electrical works and health and safety during site visits.
Following second fix, reviewing installations for electrical safety and compliance with BS 7671, and reviewing draft certification against installed equipment to confirm accuracy of cable types, sizes, protective devices, etc.
Visually inspecting installations, including detailed checks of distribution boards and equipment, and carrying out spot checks of outlets and field terminations.
Producing written reports following each site visit, detailing any failure to comply with BS 7671 and clearly stating the relevant regulation. These reports will be issued to the Contracts Director, Project Manager, and Site Electrical Supervisor involved in the project.
Providing reports detailing any failure to comply with BS 5266 and BS 5839 where applicable to the contract scope.
Providing technical assistance and advice to the Project Manager and Site Electrical Manager following the issue of reports.
Additionally, the role involves providing general assistance across all levels of the team in relation to client complaints, design queries, compliance with BS 7671, and electrical safety.
The ability to carry out electrical design using Amtech software and on paper for simple design queries is essential.

We’re looking for someone with strong leadership and technical experience who thrives in a fast-paced commercial environment:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a NICEIC Qualified Supervisor
Strong electrical design knowledge, including lighting design
Background in Design and Build commercial office fit-outs
Some experience in domestic electrical installation work
Ability to manage expectations and impart information clearly and concisely to stakeholders at all technical levels
C&G NVQ Level 3 or higher, or equivalent qualification
C&G 2391 Initial Verification and Periodic Inspection, or equivalent
C&G 2396 Design and Verification of Electrical Installations
ECS Gold or Black Card
BS 7671:2018 18th Edition
HNC in Electrical or Building Services (preferred but not essential)
The office is based approximately 4 miles southeast of Tunbridge Wells, near the Kent and East Sussex border. Projects are primarily across London and the Home Counties, with occasional national travel.
Training provided where required and encouraged to support CPD and regulatory updates
