Salary: £70,000 – £75,000 + Car Allowance + 20% Bonus

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior BDM - Sector Lead – Renewable Energy to drive growth within the rapidly expanding clean energy sector. This pivotal role will focus on building strategic partnerships and securing new business opportunities across key renewable markets including onshore and offshore wind, solar, battery storage, and hydrogen projects.
The successful candidate will play a key role in positioning the business as a trusted partner to leading developers, EPCs, and tier-one contractors delivering major renewable energy infrastructure across the UK.
Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and engage with leading contractors and developers across the UK renewable energy market.
  • Build strong relationships with EPCs and stakeholders involved in large-scale renewable projects.
  • Develop and execute a targeted go-to-market strategy to win frameworks and single-contract awards.
  • Track major projects and frameworks to identify early engagement opportunities.
  • Collaborate internally to align the company’s offering with contractor requirements on cost, compliance, and sustainability.
  • Represent the business at key industry events and conferences, building visibility and credibility within the sector.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation and frameworks including Contracts for Difference (CfD), the Energy Act 2023, and the UK Net Zero Strategy.
Success Measures
  • Securing framework or preferred-supplier status with key renewable developers and EPCs.
  • Achieving annual targets for framework wins and contract awards.
  • Involvement in flagship UK renewable projects such as offshore wind, solar farms, and hydrogen initiatives.
  • Development of a qualified project pipeline covering planning and pre-construction stages.
  • Delivery of detailed market intelligence reports to inform business strategy.
  • Contributing to company sustainability and net-zero objectives through sector-aligned growth.
  • Achieving a minimum annual revenue growth of 25% within the renewable energy sector.

Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the renewable energy or related infrastructure sector.
  • Proven track record in business development, sales, or account management at a senior level.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, frameworks, and contractor engagement.
  • Experience presenting to and influencing senior stakeholders and board-level decision makers.
  • Ability to interpret and apply relevant industry legislation, compliance standards, and sustainability requirements.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen and the ability to deliver market-entry and growth plans.
  • Highly motivated, professional, and results-driven.
