Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Construction Site Manager with a strong carpentry background to take charge of an internal refurbishment project. This is a hands-on role, ideally suited to a working foreman who can lead by example on-site while managing day-to-day site activities.
The successful candidate must be qualifiedhighly organised, and able to work independently while ensuring that high standards of workmanship, health and safety, and programme delivery are maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all site operations on internal refurbishment projects
  • Act as a working foreman, carrying out carpentry and other trade duties as required
  • Manage and supervise subcontractors and tradespeople on-site
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures
  • Liaise with clients, project managers, and suppliers to ensure smooth delivery
  • Maintain accurate site records, including progress reports and health & safety documentation
  • Ensure quality control and timely delivery of works
  • Coordinate materials, tools, and labour requirements
  • Report back regularly on project progress and site issues

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager or Working Foreman on refurbishment or fit-out projects
  • Strong carpentry skills and ability to work on the tools as required
  • Valid SMSTS or SSSTS qualification
  • CSCS card (Gold or Black preferred)
  • First Aid at Work certificate
  • Full UK driving licence and own transport
  • Willingness to travel and stay away when required
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills

Desirable:

  • PASMA or IPAF
  • Own tools
