Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our growing finance team in Manchester. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple financial tasks efficiently. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with UK accounting standards.
- Assist in the preparation of management accounts and reports, including variance analysis and commentary.
- Maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.
- Process and reconcile bank statements and supplier accounts.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial planning.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
- Support the year-end audit process, working closely with external auditors.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements and tax regulations, including VAT returns and Corporation Tax filings.
- Assist with cash flow management and financial analysis to support decision-making.
- Continuously improve accounting processes and controls to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
Requirements:
- AAT qualified or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA or equivalent, or qualified by experience.
- Proven experience in a similar accounting role, ideally within a commercial environment.
- Strong understanding of UK accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Xero) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proactive and self-motivated with a strong ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of payroll processing and systems (desirable but not essential).
